ClearCube Spins-Off Software Business as New Company called VDIworks!

Austin, Texas--May 6, 2008--ClearCube today announced that its software business is being spun-off and launched as an independent new company called VDIworks. Built on five generations of proven success within enterprise production environments, VDIworks delivers one of the most comprehensive, flexible software management platforms for creating, deploying and managing virtual desktop infrastructure. ClearCube, on the other hand, will continue to provide its complete solutions for centralized desktop computing, including end-to-end desktop virtualization. As independent companies, both ClearCube and VDIworks will maximize their business potential and gain the flexibility to meet the rapidly growing demands of their respective target markets.

VDIworks and ClearCube have signed an OEM agreement whereby ClearCube will continue to market and promote the VDIworks software under the current SentralT VDI Management Software brand. The Sentral management software will continue to be an integrated component of ClearCube's complete centralized desktop computing solutions. ClearCube customers will continue to be supported in their current license agreements with ClearCube. VDIworks will establish additional OEM relationships with third-party solutions vendors so they can deploy virtual desktop solutions to their customers.

VDIworks will target the emerging market of desktop virtualization. The new company has received seed funding from current ClearCube investors and will be seeking additional funding to support its rapid growth and high market demand. The VDIworks Virtual Desktop Platform streamlines and simplifies virtual desktop deployments, enabling IT organizations to gain improved management and control, ensure data and asset security, deliver a superior end-user experience, and provide enterprise organizations the business continuity and cost reductions promised by desktop virtualization.

ClearCube will continue to focus on delivering its high-performance centralized desktop computing solutions to market, which includes advanced PC Blade technology that centralize computing resources in the datacenter, cutting-edge thin client devices that deliver required performance to the end-user at the desktop, expert professional services and its Sentral VDI management software, which is optimized for managing centralized computing environments. ClearCube will continue to grow its business in key markets, including the Federal Government, Healthcare companies and hospitals, Financial Services and Commercial, delivering the business requirements of security, manageability, availability and total cost of ownership of its solution.

"ClearCube and VDIworks provide solutions within growth markets, and ClearCube's investors recognized this and decided separating the technologies would allow each entity to fully capitalize on the market opportunities," said Rick Hoffman, former president of ClearCube and now president of VDIworks. "Both companies immediately offer mature products and can point to successful customer installations. Both companies benefit from established internal development and sales teams. As a result, both companies present superior solutions that can provide rapid return on investment while improving enterprise security and IT management capabilities."

ClearCube also announced today that former COO Randy Printz has been promoted to president and chief executive officer. His team includes Doug Layne, worldwide vice president of sales and marketing, and Jeana Thomas, senior director of alliances and channels.

A seasoned executive management team joins Rick Hoffman on the VDIworks side, including Chief Technology Officer Amir Husain, Barry Hutt, vice president of professional services and business development, and vice president of Marketing Susannah Kirksey.

"With more than ten years of experience providing cutting-edge PC blade technology and thin client devices, ClearCube has been one of the market leaders in centralized desktop computing and is now bringing its VDI management software out of the shadows of its seasoned hardware," said Dan Kusnetzky, president and principal analyst, Kusnetzky Group LLC. "The creation of VDIworks will finally shine a spotlight on its comprehensive software platform for managing high-performance desktop virtualization, while enabling ClearCube the flexibility to focus on delivering its end-to-end solution for high-end centralized desktop computing."

Virtualization: GlassHouse hopes to cash in with its IPO!

GlassHouse Technologies Inc. on Tuesday registered to raise as much as $100 million in an initial public offering that, despite the company's financial losses, could prove a hit with investors drawn to its focus on "virtualization" technology. The Framingham, Mass., company offers consulting services for companies that use virtualization software to improve the performance of corporate servers and cut costs in their data centers. GlassHouse also provides Internet-based data storage. "Software-as-a-service," or SaaS, companies and vendors of virtualization products have proved popular among investors in recent years as corporate customers seek alternatives to conventional packaged software.
