BOULDER, Colo. – Feb. 14, 2008 – ProStor Systems, a leading developer of removable disk storage solutions for data protection and archive applications, today announced interoperability between its InfiniVault™ archive appliance and CommVault’s Simpana® Data Archiver and Exchange Compliance Archiver software. When used in combination with ProStor’s disk-based archiving and compliance appliance, CommVault® Archive software enables enterprise customers to fully manage, protect and archive data to mitigate business risk.
CommVault’s award-winning Simpana® software is designed from the ground up to work together seamlessly by using a single code base and set of common services for backup, recovery, replication, archive and retrieval operations. This singular approach to data management delivers operational efficiencies that were previously impossible.
Combined with ProStor’s InfiniVault, which blends the online access and high-performance benefits of disk-based solutions with the security and infinite scalability of RDX® removable media, the joint solution provides users with the ability to migrate aged data to archive, quickly retrieve archived data and meet regulatory compliance requirements in a cost-effective and timely manner.

“CommVault has an exceptional understanding of the data protection requirements for their customers,” said Randy Kerns, chief technology officer at ProStor Systems. “By working to ensure interoperability between InfiniVault and CommVault’s Simpana Software, we are providing our customers with a flexible software and hardware solution that will automate archiving and compliance applications in a single, easy-to-use system.”
ProStor’s InfiniVault provides customers with a digital archive and compliance solution that reduces storage costs by combining long-term data retention, regulatory compliance, automated data archiving and disaster recovery protection in a single, simple-to-deploy and easy-to-use appliance. By leveraging RDX removable disk technology, ProStor has created the world’s first archive system that combines the performance and rapid retrieval of conventional hard disk drives with the unlimited capacity scalability and disaster recovery protection of removable media, but with a system design that is far more reliable than tape and much lower cost than fixed-disk archive systems.
In February 2008, InfiniVault received the Bronze award in the “Backup and Disaster Recovery Hardware” category of the 2007 Storage Products of the Year competition, as selected by judges and editors of SearchStorage.com and Storage magazine.
