VMware Inc said on Wednesday new competition has not driven down its prices in recent months in the virtualization software market, where it held a near monopoly until last year."We are not seeing a price point issue," Chief Executive Diane Greene of the Palo Alto, California-based company told a Lehman Brothers investor conference in San Francisco, monitored by Webcast.VMware, the world's fourth-largest publicly traded software maker, was the first to commercialize virtualization software technology that boosts the efficiency of server computers by allowing one machine to perform the work of several."We have been able to maintain our price points because there is all this amazing functionality that is of very high value," Greene said.
