Info-Tech has discovered in its research that x86 server based virtualization will generally cover about 15 per cent of a large enterprise's IT infrastructure.
However, in organizations with about 100 to 500 employees, this kind of virtualization goes up to about 55 per cent of the IT infrastructure, Sloan reported.
Sloan made the point that virtualization in large enterprises tends to be installed in branch officers or departments where Windows or Linux servers predominate.
So it has begun.
